Uplift

Uplift
I don’t want to write some depressed poem
But that’s kind of all I feel right now.
So I’m gonna try to lighten the tone
And happiness, for you, I will endow.
The sun will come out tomorrow
And there’s plenty of fish in the sea.
So darling there’s no need for sorrow
You can walk the road with me.
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel,
Everything will be okay in the end.
I know that living feels like a pummel
But soon your heart will begin to mend.
I know the skies seem gloomy
Like the sun will never show.
The fish are hard to see
Because they don’t ever take it slow.
The light at the end of the tunnel
Looks like a candle from here.
But honey there’s no need to muddle
Take my hand no need to fear.
For I will walk you towards the sun
And bait the fish for you.
Because you deserve to have some fun
And you deserve a medal too.
