Upon A Promise Once Foretold

Upon A Promise Once Foretold

Upon a promise once foretold,
An Abraham they now array,
For an expectation to behold,
All Thomases are kept away.

How ancient and yet modern to utter,
Their story's tale yet again,
Maketh a fool wiser,
And a fool, the wise doth rain.

Insane to get a glorious gain,
On a hope which has yet to fail,
How long can they bear the pain?
Their insanity do walls hail.

Oh! Thou knowest not,
What lies in the wait,
Like crowns of glory lot,
An upliftment upon their gait.

Through the One the promise came,
Also shall the fulfilment bring hold,
And their faith kept flame,
Upon a promise once foretold.
