Upon viewing a Kandinsky

Upon viewing a Kandinsky

oh to swim the boundless sea
to drift in churning waters
to tumble into the stillness
static
yet bursting
breathing
boundless
yet marginal
contained, contrasted and subdued
aggressive and mute
the synthesis of oppositions
the line, the angle, the curve,
the melody
each form opposing
dynamic ,focal ,sharp, and smooth
the brassy jazz
the reedy symphony
the swelling crescendo
a riot in technicolor
oil on canvas
