Vampire Corpse
Moribund human turned fanged and feared
You were promised power at the expense of others,
Immortality and invincibility.
But such things don’t exist.
Even when you’re on top of the world,
Even when you are granted power,
There will always be a stake waiting for it’s time to
Condemn your selfish heart from its duty of
Beating rhythmically.
A stake you practically walked into blindfolded.
And even though they spit on your grave and
Destroy your tombstone,
It was you who showed them what they could’ve become
If it was them who the universe granted such power.
You were only following their rules.
