Vermillion

Never let your broken heart bleed
The contents will stain your favorite blouse;
It imprints like footsteps as you leave

And it hurts to stitch as one could believe
Every echo is heard too loud
Never let your broken heart bleed

A ticker slumbers but stops its dreams
Suffocation in bed sheets as it tries to rouse
It imprints like footsteps as you leave

Every love song seems hard to breathe
You start to hate your poetry and the way it sounds
Never let your broken heart bleed

Pull up a chair, and take a seat
Your body can no longer be your house
It imprints like footsteps as you leave

Flowers still wilt and eyes still weep
we buy more vases but the deluge makes us douse
Never let your broken heart bleed
It imprints like footsteps as you leave
