I'm a veteran
Of a different kind of war
A different type of enemy
Not talked about before
A different kind of weapon
To to tear the mind and soul
A different type of suffering
To age you before you're old
Who shall tell the children
How to live once we are gone
Who will hold the torch
Who will stand for the weak and carry on?
Who will stand for Justice
When it's just a word in some old book
Who will teach the children to honor the vows they took?
Sanity is leaving this world will change for worse
Who stand in the gap who will reverse the curse?
The old veterans are dying
The new breed are all weak
Who will be the generation
To provide the strength we seek?
The old veterans are dying
The homes are all in vain
I weep for my grandchildren
And all their coming pain.
