When I was taught to sing,
I was told to relinquish control
And let the vibrato just be.

Not to stand slack,
With my jaw tight,
Hands and abdomen clenched.

But to stand tall,
Infused with energy,
Body centered at peace.

But brimming with passion,
Filled with the joy of music.

I want to live like I sing,
Releasing the music in my heart,
And allowing the vibrato to ring free.
