View of City Lights

When the night falls upon the city
We can then take note of the lights.
Such wondrous shapes they create,
Much like when looking upon the clouds.

Often overlooked by country folk
Who see the stars routinely,
Our city lights become musical notes
In a harmonic rhythm, it would seem.

The switches turn them on and off
Changing what we view,
Once in a while, you may see some of a particular hue.

They dance on throughout the night,
Ever changing shapes that they create,
Backdrops of buildings remain the constant here.
Best of all, they are here all year.
