Villanelle

One day I woke and I was.
Eyes opened I began seeing
the world doing all that it does.

Like the seed who grows into buds,
I don't know how I came into being
One day I woke and I was.

I used to wander through the muck and the muds,
but when Truth came along it was so freeing
from the world and doing all that it does.

Never thought I'd be good enough
to be the mother of a beauty sleeping
but one day I woke and I was.

Trying to protect her from the flaws,
I so often found myself grieving
this world for doing all that it does.

I knew one day I'd return to the dust
life sped by as if I'd been dreaming
The day I didn't wake - I no longer was -
and the world kept doing all that it does.
