Violence in the valleys.

Your sweet voice
Told me stories of the mountains
Of the people who lived beyond them
Of archers who could shoot straight through stars.
Of the mermaids who galloped in the lakes.
Of the prince and his betrothed..
Of all the jewels he saw in her eyes
But I wonder,
Why didn't you tell me about the beasts? The beasts who shot people down the valley.
The beasts with guns and grenades.
Oh,why didn't you tell me about them for I could've saved you when they knocked down the doors and took you away.
Why didn't you tell me for I could've called upon those archers for you.
Why didn't you tell me?
Because now, I crave for your saintly sweet voice.
But all I hear, are the gunshots that took you from me.
