Vision of Black and White

Lack of colors through my sight
I can’t see past the shades of light
Restless throughout the entire night
I can only see in black and white
Essence of an emotionless grey
Off in the distance dreams fade away
Thoughts searching for metaphors to say
But only distorted words flow out as I lay
Above the clouds my mind takes flight
Trying to cry but my tears are too bright
I breathe in forgetfulness with all my might
I can only see in black and white
Trying to forgive hurt, I pray
Wishing for special moments to stay
Tonight my daydreams has time to play
But I roam alone like a shadow or stray
In the darkness my nightmares seem to polite
Tied on a string my heart is a kite
Reaching for colors in this fight
I can only see in black and white
