Your eyes
What wonders they have shown you
What truths you have known through
What Beauty they have beheld
What lies they have dispelled
They gave you child like visions full of dreams to achieve
and let you know what you could believe
They've conveyed your lust
and betrayed your intent when you were not worthy of another's trust
They've shed your tears of joy and grief
They've witnessed all the horrors that life can bequeath
In a world where the blind lead the blind one lesson is clear to me
Your eyes are not the true gift
The true gift is your ability to see...
