Visions

Contested content, vying for internal conquest
Countless battles, fought on endless fronts
Relentless enemies wield unforgiving weapons of hate
Mustn't yield to their attacks, not even once

Selfish selflessness, giving myself to satisfy myself
To what end will my inconclusive thoughts meet?
Will they bring to bear the fruit of laborious servitude?
Or wither the flowered path into thorns under my feet?

Reposed rewards sate the hunger for affirmation
And the blessings of a goddess do calm mine fears
Ever so bright to guide me amongst this warfield
Eternal light against my darkness, for indefinite years
