Void

Today the bed feels empty.
As I twist about and turn,
I miss you.
I miss your scent,
I miss your warmth,
I miss your touch.

Today the bed feels empty.
I cannot touch your smooth skin,
Nor kiss you with love,
Nor caress your hair,
Nor love you forever.

Today the bed feels empty.
I want to gaze into the fathomless blue,
Of your innocent eyes.
I want to hear your sugary voice,
I want you to hold me tight,
As we ride through the fearful night.

Today the bed feels empty.
I yearn to hear your breath,
And feel it on my nose.
I yearn to melt in your warmth,
And hug you tight.
I yearn to hold on,
And not let go.

Today the bed feels empty.
I am yet to pray to God,
But whom shall I pray to?
For whom shall I pray?
O Lord, if you exist at all,
How could you pain me so?
How could you forsake my love
And take my daughter away!
