In no way could I have rationalized
as moonlight kissed an angel's gaze;
ensnaring brown eyes planned my demise.
The moment you walked away you engraved,
haunting memories I romanticize,
only to reflect truth shackled in chains.
No time could help me decriminalize
my self destructive ways of sins unpaid.

Be I condemned with immortality,
unable to escape your name's embrace
or understand the way you sympathize,
such kindness is beyond fragility,
unearned by my frequent demons you face,
love will take more than "I apologize."
