Waiting

I ask thy Father why?
As years passed by, still no reply
As I walk down the road of my shattered life
I ask myself, why does he not reply?
One night in despaired, he came to me and said, my child
I have replied and gave you my gift
He said, my gift to you is the strength I given you
To continue your life the gift to love
The gift to give and to forgive
The gift not to hate
For I will carry the hate, sorrow and burdens of your life
There, for your heart can mend and not to be taken
From the lost and sadness of your life my child
This is my reply
