Waiting

By Dot

She stands there wishing.
Watching
the glistening ocean
shun
the rest of the world. She
twirled
once, twice, and again
against
the waves breaking.
Aching
inside to see her love once more.
Morning,
hours gone. She watches as the ocean crashes.
Ashes
it feels, from the light of the sun. The
reason
is unknown. The sunset
sets
shadows on her skin
akin
to her love. A figure distant
stands.
She tentatively walks forward,
no word
is spoken, as the figure draws nearer, he
reels her
into his arms. His lips soft
softens
her body. She is in heaven, and
even
he is what she remembered.
Remodeled,
a little older, but sexier still.
Chills
run through her body.
Nobody
else in sight. Only she and her lover, who
loved her.
