Waiting

Can I win the love of the one I call my own?
Will he smile if I dare call his name?
Will my heart be expressed from my lips to his ear?
Hear truth and don’t hesitate.
Is living for him with passion and respect enough?
How can one’s truth be seen as lies?
Has slander bruised and corrupted our love?
Suspicion shall not be the parting of us.
Can trust be upon those who whisper?
Will fear be the comfort of his future due his past?
Could it be overcome by the beauty of honesty?
The truth is held in the heart of the receiver.
Who is the receiver at hand?
Shall he again burst out with accusation and hearsay?
Will he believe in words of the deceiver?
My love only awaits his truth.
