Wanderlust

My heart skips a beat
Breath caught in my throat.
I've seen countless wonders,
From planes, trains and boats.
Wonder intoxicates,
Beauty inspires.
Amazement's addictive,
My soul is on fire.
Temp'ral perfect moments;
The price is the pain.
Experiencing a high,
That cannot be replaced.
It's hard to say no,
It's hard to go home,
When part of yourself
Will never be whole.
Steals your breath,
Claims your heart,
Makes a wandering soul.
Not a boy, not a girl,
Just this beautiful world.
