War

The lingering smell of your sensual skin,
When will the pain subside, the loving begin.
So many feelings remain trapped inside,
I can not even count the tears that I have cried.
Many moons have risen, many suns have set too,
I can’t imagine living my life with anyone, but you.
Your touch used to be a reality, now it’s just vivid dreams,
Your mind can play tricks on you, not all is as it seems.
Our love is like a Battle, often wondering what we are fighting for,
Perhaps our future will bring the solace we need to finally end this War.
There is no pleasure without pain, no happiness without sorrow,
When I look into your eyes, I see my tomorrow.
I miss you so much I am dying inside,
I can only do so much, you know I have tried.
Give me your love again, like once before,
I promise you I will make you happy again once more.

This Poems Story

My relationship was a trying one. I wrote many poems in the 15 years that I was with this man.
