Warm Skies

The tide has claimed the day
Washed my memories away
No longer can I stay
I'm tired of being afraid

You no longer give me warm skies
Thunder clouds in your wake
You no longer give me highs
My presence is now awake

I was held in a trance
Had lies in place of romance
Hitting walls changed my stance
Change brings about our own advance

Our awakening is our demise
The falling is my rise
Shed our company of ties
See from the blinded eye

You no longer give me warm skies
Thunder clouds in your wake
You no longer give me highs
My presence is now awake

The venom that you make
I can no longer take
The words that you snake
I'm immune to their ache
