I want to be a warrior.
To fight all who dare doubt me,
For I am meant for bigger and better things.
I want to be as strong as the lioness,
For her vigor is what feeds all those around her.
I want to feel powerful,
Like I hold the fickle fates in my hands,
Like my words hold the power to move mountains,
Like at the very least, I am heard.
Instead I crumble.
Like a star to a black hole I am vanquished.
Screaming across the abyss,
My throat scratchy,
My eyes stinging,
My words are forever lost.
Still all I want is to be a warrior,
but the only person I am at war with is myself.
