Wartime Journal

Left alone, down the path
All roads lead to faded black

Came for battle, waging war
Battle wounds, settled scores

Bayonet lungs, lost in Revolution Forest
Remnants of heroes scattered amoungst green pastures

No medical intermediary, infection and honor setting in

Speaking to the afterlife
Unsure where to begin

I see my breath in the morning chill
Battle wounds, living will

Fire and ash linger in the air above
Shared commitment, unspoken love

War waging within my soul
Battle wounds, settled scores

Unhindered, I carry a badge of courage into the afterlife

Back to the front line!
