Was Locked Up, Now I’m Free

When I look in the mirror I don't see myself
I see another kid, begging for my help
I try to break him out,
but that just makes it worse.
When the blood pours like rain,
then the pain is like a curse.
I'll never be happy,
i'll never make it.
i told my mama ima make it
she said boy stop playin'.
I've been locked up since the age of nine.
I guess that's what i get for not listening to my mind.
Now i'm sixteen
and following my dreams.
I been held by the shackles,
now i'm about to break free.
