Wasted and Wondering

By Andy Ca    Andy Ca

wasted and wondering
but stone cold sober
we are quietly talking
about the facts of my death
in the silence the phone rings
it's an old girlfriend
who has asked for a moment
she wanted to talk with me
this is not the occasion
I am listening to Tom Waits
he is singing "Waltzing Matilda"
and Tom Trauberts's blues
there are no innocent victims
we all have corruption
I was stabbed in the heart
on multiple occasions
by a woman named Susan
she's killed several hundred
she wanted me to bleed to death
then Tom's song has ended
I push the button to play it again
I've a lot to think over
blood seeps from my heart
I'm distant and too tired
to figure this out.
I am tired and I am sleepy
or drifting away
