As the rain gently taps the window of my bedroom
Kissing my cheeks through the broken screen
Surrounding me with a comfortable chill
Replacing the warmth that I have been so accustomed to
A mist of serenity shrouding my troublesome thoughts
Finding peace in the cohesion of water droplets
Laying in a bed full of childhood blankets
Listening to tap-dancing rain, entertaining California
A mild breeze, harsh enough to create disarray
Disorder and randomness in the falling rain
No whispers of light shining through the clouds of Oberon
A time of reflection in a moment of soothing darkness
Consumed by staring deeply at playful puddles
In admiration of elegant grays and browns
Sometimes it's better to turn off the color
Flowing with a little sadness and empathy, freely
