Waters

A girl screamed
She splashed against the water
Her heart pounded as she fought
she tried...
But it wasn’t enough
It never was enough
Once again a girl drowned
Fell beneath the ice
Slipped into darkness
Closed her eyes
Once again she hit the bottom
But this time she did not swim back up
So a body lays at the bottom of the dark lake
The bottom of despair
The depths of darkness
The depths of her mind
But in the real world,
a girl walks the streets
A girl who drowned in the depths of her mind
