The irony of him hating the beach
Is that his love came in waves
One minute it was crashing all over me
Making my skin glow
With glistening droplets of water
I could drown in it and die happy
The next minute it retracted
As I begged for it to come back
To take my breath away once more
But it keeps drifting farther away
And just before I decide to get out
Another wave crashes over me
The water persuades me to stay
And once I decide to swim yet again
I realize that he may be the waves
But I am the boat
The waves are what push me away
As I catch a breeze and set sail for good
