Waves of Grief

The waves crash against the shore
The salty drops splash against my face
Joining the salty tears my eyes had bore
My racing heart, keeping pace
Beating loud as a lion's roar 5

As the evening sun sinks down
Casting dancing shadows round me
All hope lost, I seemed to drown
My soul longing to be free
To that place, that golden town 10

The town where happiness eternal rings
Leaves no mark, nor pain, nor cry
So much hope this image brings
The everlasting lullaby
Yet i am an angel with clipped wings 15

This is a place i can not reach
This bliss can never stay
I am stranded on this beach:
The waves crash against the shore
The salty drops splash against my face, 20
All my dreams have gone astray
As my dry mouth parts to let out a screech

All that comes is silence.
