We are dying

By     Avatar

People I knew have passed.
People I loved have passed.
The world still holds promise,
yet it seems less attainable.
Time passes quickly.
Good sleep and less pain have become the
measurements of a good day.
Our world has been invaded by a new lifeform -
technology.
It spins wildly as it invades all aspects of our lives
with promises of speed and efficiency.
Yet we are standing still.
We are children watching a Merry-Go-Round we want
to ride but can't because we don't have a ticket.
Our comfort zone has moved closer to our core.
Friends visit less because
we have less to talk about.
Things we want are no longer accessible.
We are dying;
day by day,
inch by inch,
increasingly alone,
watching the Merry-Go-Round we can no longer ride.
