We Are the Minority

We are the minority.
The ones that think, contemplate, wonder.
Outliers, in the midst of a society
Of unspoken rules.

And we think: why?
Why can't love be free?
Why does it matter if he is also male?
Love is love, and sex doesn't matter.

And we think: why?
Why can't we be a girl,
And use whatever bathroom
We want to use?

And we think: why?
Why is it so bad
To be different?
Why are we so scared?

We are the minority,
But we are not afraid to be.
We will speak.
We will fight.
