Weathering

I've never been happiest
Stepped out of bed on chilly mornings
Presented calmly in class
Or voiced how my feelings often

I enjoyed being in my car seat
Riding on the freeway
Watching pleasant views zip by

You were a gust of wind
Taking the blanket off
Pushing me into the spotlight
And listened to all I had to say

Like clouds in the sky
You pass quickly by
Familiar, yet never the same

Although torn to pieces,
I stood back up
Knowing another gust
Would come my way

Deciduous trees change color
And its leaves fall off
But eventually blossom again
