Weight of the World

The weight of the world
Is a heavy one to bear.
We spend so much time
Pondering our existence.

If you find yourself
Holding up the planet earth,
You may be trapped in
Your own cycle of devotion.

Your hands will set fire,
Sweat will drip off your body,
Your arms will start to shake
And your knuckles will turn pale.

You'll scream out in pain,
You'll clench your teeth until they crack,
You'll feel your bones break,
Yet you will remain stagnant.

And while you curse God
For subjecting you to this pain,
You tend to forget,
That you did this to yourself.
