Welcome to my plugged in life

Yaffa Erica Slurzberg

Welcome to my plugged in life
Surrounded by tangles of chargers and cords
The lifelines that keep us afloat
Feeling dumb without our smart phone
“It is my whole life” I exclaim as I panic at the thought of it being lost forever
My phone, watch, camera, email, Facebook, excuse to avoid awkward conversation
Excuse to avoid social interaction, socializing with “friends” and “liking” their life
What life? What life do we live consumed by our phones tablets and laptops
Getting excited over videos of cats on YouTube
We are plugged into the “safety” of an inanimate object
And avoiding emotional growth with our fellow humans.
