Well-Worn Shoes

These shoes have got some stories
If they could talk, they'd say
About the runs, the kicks, the jumps
Always worn throughout the day

The laces are a little frayed
The soles are getting thin
The shoe turned from white to brown
The stitching starts to fade

There’s dirt on the sides
The tongue’s askew
They don’t look right
And they’re not new

Then why not thrown away?
Because it tells the tale
Of not a shoe, but a life
That's walked through every trail
