Were

Roses were red,
Violets were blue,
You were my love, my sweet,
And god I miss you.

Daisies were white,
Ghosts wander from place to place,
You were my everything, the peace to every place,
You made this world feel like mine,
But the world isn't that kind.

Smiles came to light as you walk by,
But like the air it passed us by,
The light was soft,
As they turned your heart off.

Sunflowers were yellow,
I have to reach up to the skies now for you,
Your eyes were green, just like the world was once too,
But that is all in the past now.

Foxgloves were purple,
You were loved and left us all hurting,
I lay down your crown,
As I felt my world falling.

Dahlias were pretty,
And so were you,
Your moonlight was illuminating,
This world ended up killing you.

The rain falls as we all do,
This world just isn't right without you,
Grey as the mist on a rainy afternoon.

I lay down one last time,
And close my eyes to think about you,
Before this colorless world takes my life too.
