Wet Maple Leaf

As this rainy night darks,
Scars I hide remain like wet tree barks
The future looks unreal,
As the foggy road ahead unclear

The cold breeze
Reminds me of my heart freeze
Smoky cold breath I exhale,
Reminds me of the pain I inhale

As I walk alone,
I know the strength I own
The heavy raindrops
Hide my insane teardrops

As the strongest wind blows on me,
Promised myself I will never give up on me
Let the rain wash away my today's sorrows,
The pain be drained like the promise of tomorrows.

This Poems Story

I currently reside in Canada, pursuing my degree in finance and business economics. We are a family of five, basically from KSA. Inspiration to write this poem is the feeling of frustration of not being able to erase the unwanted past experiences and memories that loiter the mind of today with pain. The poem symbolizes making peace with past and the hope of building a brighter future regardless of what all has happened.
