What a Poem Should Be

A poem should hold vibrancy, while maintaining its silence
A poem should contain itself, while addressing more
A poem should hold itself to one truth, no matter the context

Poems need to stand the test of time, eventually unable to continue
Poems must be touched, heard, and seen, until it cannot be
Poems without interpretation, water without water

The poem captures not everything, only what needs to be seen
The poem challenges its audience, even when some do not seek challenge
The poem is everlasting, as long as it is allowed to last
