What Always Is and Never Was

Lost in the slight wetness,
Life would not remain,
No armor to be stripped,
just a moment,
A brief pause in seconds,
No fading occurs,
mind stuck in the dusk of pink and purple,
a simple bench,
yet the opposite of rest,
hearts skip more than just a few,
hazel upon hazel,
Never seen so beautiful,
A smile that would send the angels and birds,
To hell,
Skin as one, intentions another,
What is a future?
Lines left blank, so much written,
ice as cold as a night on that sank ship,
Jack was the real victor,
he didn't have to taste the Rose,
The spark never to dissipate, that dear summer,
I will always remember the fireflies
