What Happened?

Yelling, yelling, that's all she knows,
No calmness, no serenity;
Only hostility and anger,
Why is it so hard to understand?

Crying, crying, that's all I feel like doing,
My heart breaks, and aches;
Each time we quarrel over nothing.
How can life be so cruel?

Fleeing, fleeing, from the hurt and rejection,
I want to run and hide from the reality,
Of her hatred and vicious verbal attacks;
Where have I failed this lovely child of mine?

Praying, praying for divine intervention,
To help to calm and heal my child;
In a way that helps her grow spiritually.
What can I do to help her, besides pray?

Dying, dying, my faith in my parental abilities,
No more confidence, no more conviction,
Only disillusionment and defeat.
When will I learn to be a good parent,
In a way that helps her grow spiritually?
What can I do to help her, besides pray?
