What Happened To You?

First time I found you in a greenhouse watering Poinsettias in the winter. How they glistened with glitter and joy.
Acceptance and warmth there in that hothouse, Mid January(after Christmas) 'some friendly boy'.
How would I know the months ahead?, allowing love to grow, whilst 'a broken heart' took longer than another to trust, that Winter's snow.
I gave it a chance, my all in a glance, and dreamt dreams like wedded bliss. Relatives, wedding cake and a child, to name a few.
Drives at night and cats and cars, but now So shockingly it's through.
You couldn't wait for me, no longer wanted to.
My 'other half' gone, my twin no more, I closed the door to you.
