What If

What if, what if we,
stop replacing God with religion.
What if, what if we,
stop turning our backs and sinning.
Would it really hurt, to reach the lost,
for the cost, that Jesus paid on the Cross?

No, no, no, we die to ourselves.
Peter said he would never deny Jesus,
but he did it three times.

What if, what if we,
lose this life to gain a better one.
What if, what if we,
lose everything to gain it back 100 fold.
Would it really hurt, to give to the lost,
for the cost, that Jesus paid on the Cross?

No, no, no, we carry our crosses.
We say we want to follow Jesus where he goes,
but we end up gaining the world.

If we lose this life for Christ's sake,
and the gospel, we will save it.
Salvation and eternal life,
is before everybody's eyes, just lift up your head.
Receive what's been given to you,
Love and a relationship, from your heavenly Father.

This Poems Story

I am a Christian who writes poems. I began the greatest journey of my life when I met Jesus Christ, for my life is to show this world how to know Christ and his crucifiction. I hope to encourage and impart grace with words in my poems. I pray that the words make people think in a deep way. God created us to have a relationship with him. Sometimes we as humans conform to religion, sinning, lifestyles and possessions. My poem "What if" is about what if we let the religion, sinning, lifestyles and possessions fade away, and what should remain is God. We're all created in the image of God through Jesus Christ.
