What Is My Worth?

Something in me I cannot shake
Why would you tell me to stay behind
And let her ruin my view of you?
To let her step into my shoes,
Claim, of those actions, you were confused

You remind me of my past
Of the unforgettable pain
Of watching the man I love
Get taken over by vain

I wish I was unprincipled
Could put aside my worth
But your crooked views of us
Take precedence over the values I endorse

So take a second if you will
To imagine a little story
Where I let him take my hand
To claim me for his glory

Your eyes are fixed on me
Your hand still on my waist
The anger creeps inside of you
But that is the end
As I do not have such lack in taste
