What It Felt Like

If I wanted to know what it was like to hear your voice again
I would've stood outside in the rain and waited for the thunder to shake my bones.

If I wanted to know what it was like to look into your eyes again
I would've hung crystals all over my room and waited for the light to shine through them.
Hell
If I wanted to know what it was like to be around you again
I would stand in the middle of a garden of roses
waiting to get pricked
or waiting to be amazed.

when someone asked me what it was like being with you, I tried to explain, but my lungs were set on fire and my words were frozen.
You stole the words that were supposed to come out.
If I wanted to know what it would've been like to taste you again, I would've waited for it to snow and opened my mouth, waiting for the snowflakes to fall.

If I wanted to know what if felt like when you lost interest in me again, I wouldve stood in the middle of the road and waited for a car to come my way.

But if you wanted to know how I my voice sounded again, you would listen to the crackle after a record ends.
If you wanted to remember what my eyes looked like again
You could go to the ocean and stare at the waves.
If you wanted to know what it would've been like to be around me again, you could have looked at the stars and felt what it was like to be safe.

If you wanted to know what I tasted like again, you could have guzzled the paint that used to sit on my fingertips.
But if you ever wanted to know what it felt like when I lost interest in you, all you would have to do is... nothing. Because I never did.
