What She Teaches Me

She’s taught me about love
About appreciating
Gifts from Heaven above
I fell in love with her
Why, I don’t really know
But I’ve been learning everyday
The meaning of love to know
She came into my life
Found her way to my heart’s core
And four years later
I saw Sharon no more
At first thought
This you might think so sad
But the one in this story’s center
To me a lesson not so bad
She teaches me
How love can touch me so deep
And though she’s not here
Her smile’s in my heart to keep
I have known within my heart
Love so sweet it shines
Aged over fifty years now
The purest of love is wine
When my time is up
And of Heaven’s home I’ll be
With all I’ve learned of love
What she teaches me
