Whatever You Want

You want the moon?
I’ll reach up,
Extending my fingertips
Drenched in starlight
And I’ll wrap them around
Her glowing body.
For you
I would capture the moon.
And if you should want the sun as well
Even if you eclipse his beauty by far
I’d grab my butterfly net
And scoop it up,
Serving it on a platter
For you to behold
At a closer distance than
92,955,828 miles.
For you.
I would kidnap the sky
And the sea for good measure
And maybe just in case
The very earth you’re grounded to
And then gravity for holding you
And the atmosphere for kissing your skin
Even when I cannot.
Goodbye moon.
Goodbye sun.
Hello to you.
