When Daddy Cries

She's been gone awhile
All her things still in a pile
Open the door to her art room
Sitting there is a picture of a moon
She loved to paint the sky, the stars, and planets up above
She believed in heaven and was madly in love
My father doesn't speak her name
Scared I guess but its insane
Mamma used to sing to me
But daddy can barley look at me
He says I have her eyes
I guess it really hurts inside
I like to talk about her
And the family that we were
Her painting used to light up this house
Now its dark for a mouse
I wish he would understand
The memories will always withstand
But I still think about her
When I'm sitting at home
I wish that I could, just call her on the phone
My father doesn't speak her name
Scared I guess but its insane
Mamma used to sing to me
But daddy can barley look at me
