When I Could See

I watched the trees wave as the wind hurried through
the leaves causing a sweet smell in the air
Changing of days and seasons now are everywhere
Clouds carried by the wind as if it were large
cotton balls with no particular place to go
Fog on the windows and a crunch on the ground
my friend calls snow
Lights of green, some are red, and others I know not
Looking out the window, chasing a ball I've
always liked a lot
Now I here, a world of color, with those
who love and care for me
A loving voice, a gentle hand, the smell of home,
this I would never change, for what I could see
