Now that I am old
What has life given?
What have I seen?
That makes me want to go
See how my bones are weak
So weak I cannot walk
Many days have I endure
This painful life today
And sure,death is close
I've seen that pain before
Now that I am old
My death will not be far
If I die today
You know what you'll do
Make a priceless coffin
And let this day be peace
Let me fade away
And don't share a tear today
For you know I am old
What difference will it make
To waste thy rightful tears
In a generous year
Now that I am old
Like the dieing moon
Waste no tears in line with peace
And learn my death is not in vain
If I die today
Don't waste your tears away
Thank God for today
As I peacefully fade away.
