When I Think of Love

When I think of love I think of you,
Love as a worn piece of driftwood,
Love as a deep brown hue,
Love as the desire to do good,
Doing everything we could,
We left ourselves, our desire,
Out of the emptiness, the mire,
You and I, we waited for hope,
Waited patiently and with anxiety,
Tried and tried and tried and tried,
To make it work, and finally,
Out of the foam, out of the sea,
I found you, and you found me,
Love that is lost and sought for,
Love that is found and fought for,
Like the the long winter that holds,
The flowering buds in its cold,
Spring comes and releases them,
Cherry blossoms bloom again,
Like our love between us two,
When I think of love I think of you.
